Well instead of dontating to organizations, no one is 100% certain where their money goes for dontations so this are a few things you can try to reduce global warming, help animals, the environment or people from eating harmful foods.
first a few basic things to do in your home (if possible)
1. Install CFLs (Compact fluorescent lamps) where ever possible in your home, but make sure if the switch is dimable buy dimmable CFLs. Also some manufature are better then other and do not buy generic brands as they can cause fires. I recommend Phillips lights or GE.
2. Change your tolliet to 3 or 6L. And in Canada there are ones that are tested by the city of Toronto so you only have to flush them once.

4. Recycle as much as you can, try not to use plastic bags. In Toronto and surrounding areas plastic bags now cost 5 cents or more at all stores. If possible buy products that contain little or no plastic as possible.

It can be on any topic including; animals, environment, global warming etc etc... Make sure you get at least 2000 signatures before submitting to govnerment or whoever you propose to send it to.
